Non-invasive surgery techniques and drug delivery system with acoustic characteristics of ultrasound contrast agent have been studied intensively in recent years. Many ultrasound contrast agents are commercially available, and they are usually composed of a microbubble coated by a surfactant or lipid bilayer, i.e., a hollow microsphere. We show that the hollow microsphere with polymer shell can be fabricated just blowing vapor of commonly-used instant adhesive into water as microbubbles.

A sterilized cyanoacrylate adhesive composition including a cyanoacrylate composition and a cure speed enhancer, wherein said sterilized cyanoacrylate adhesive composition does not cure upon sterilization, and wherein the composition when cured to form a film on a patient's tissue has water vapor transmission rate from about 950 to about 3000 g/m2/day.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Numerous methods are used in the correction of deviated septal cartilage. One of these methods is to perform partial-thickness incisions (scoring) on the concave side of the deviated cartilage. In this retrospective report, we present a series of patients who were treated by filling the scoring incision gaps with cyanoacrylate-based tissue adhesives to increase the effectiveness of scoring incisions and to maintain stability of the corrected concave cartilage segments.

This invention relates to sterilized cyanoacrylate adhesive compositions with x-ray imagining capabilities, methods of making such compositions, and methods of using such compositions.

Cyanoacrylate glues are easily applied to wounds with good cosmetic results. However, they tend to be brittle and can induce local tissue toxicity. A series of cyanoacrylate monomers with a flexible ether linkage and varying side-chain lengths was synthesized and characterized for potential use as tissue adhesives. The effect of side-chain length on synthesis yield, physical and mechanical properties, formaldehyde generation, cytotoxicity in vitro and biocompatibility in vivo were examined.

Povidone Iodine or polyvinyl pyrrolidone-iodine, commonly abbreviated as PVP-I was discovered by American scientists H. A. Shelanski and M. V. Shelanski. PVP- I was introduced to the pharmaceutical market as an antiseptic agent in the 1950’s and is found to be more effective than other iodine formulations and was less toxic

Mouth dissolving films is a new drug delivery system for oral route. This delivery system consists of a very thin oral strip, which is simply placed on the patients tongue or any oral mucosal tissue, instantly wet by saliva, film rapidly hydrates and then disintegrates and/or dissolve to release the medication. In the formulation of oral film, the most important ingredient is polymer which helps in film formation. Mainly hydrophilic polymers are used in mouth dissolving films.
