A method for applying eye lashes using artificial eyelashes includes the steps of: providing an object of having upper eye lashes and lower eye lashes; providing a set of artificial eyelashes having a predetermined length; applying an attaching element onto a portion of the at least one of the artificial eyelashes; and connecting the portion of one of the artificial eyelashes with one of the upper eye lashes such that a gap exist between the artificial eyelashes along the one of the upper eye lashes between a tip of the port and upper eyelid.

A decorative artificial eyelash hair (10) has an artificial eyelash hair (12) with a base portion ( 14), a tip portion (16) and an outer surface (18). A decorative applique (20) is adhered to at least a portion of the outer surface (18) of the artificial eyelash hair (12). The applique includes a decorative component (28) fixed to the outer surface (18) of the hair (12) by an adhesive (24). The decorative component (28) is made of very small, reflective particles adhered to the outer surface of the individual artificial eyelash hair.

A composition of matter which includes a type of black pigmented, pharmaceutical grade cyanoacrylate, mixed with a small amount of irregular shaped, insoluble polytetrafluoroethene in microfiber powder form, and then professionally applied to the eyelashes creating a semipermanent mascara application that is 100% waterproof, will not run, smear, or smudge, and lasts 2 to 3 weeks.

Octyl-2-cyanoacrylate is a long carbon chain cyanoacrylate derivative that is stronger and more pliable than its shorter chain derivatives. One hundred and eleven patients underwent elective surgical procedures by the same surgeon using either octyl-2-cyanoacrylate or sutures for skin closure at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Most patients underwent excision of benign skin lesions with a mean wound size of 112 mm3. Patients were randomized into either control (vertical mattress suture closure) or test groups (closure with octyl-2-cyanoacrylate).
