A method for applying eye lashes using artificial eyelashes includes the steps of: providing an object of having upper eye lashes and lower eye lashes; providing a set of artificial eyelashes having a predetermined length; applying an attaching element onto a portion of the at least one of the artificial eyelashes; and connecting the portion of one of the artificial eyelashes with one of the upper eye lashes such that a gap exist between the artificial eyelashes along the one of the upper eye lashes between a tip of the port and upper eyelid.

A radiation-curable composition which includes a cyanoacrylate component or a cyanoacrylate-containing formulation; a metallocene component; and a polymerizingly effective amount of a photoinitiator to accelerate the rate of cure is provided.

Filled cyanoacrylate adhesive compositions possessing electro- and heat-conducting properties have been developed. These compositions are recommended for panel wiring of electro- and radioelements and hermetic sealing of aluminum casting.

The properties of 2-cyanoacrylates are considered. The geometric structure of 2-cyanoacrylic acid and its 1-adamantylmethyl ester is established by X-ray diffraction methods. Two methods for expanding the temperature range of the service lives of adhesives based on crosslinked 2-cyanoacrylates are considered. The first method is based on the incorporation of unsaturated carbon-carbon bonds into ester fragments of alkyl 2-cyanoacrylates followed by crosslinking via these bonds.

The effect the curing conditions on the properties of adhesive joints formed using cyanoacrylate-based adhesives is investigated. The temperature dependences of relative rigidity and mechanical loss tangent are studied by torque analysis for poly(ethyl-, allyl-, allyloxyethyl-, allyloxyisopropyl-, propargyloxyethyl-, and propargyl-) cyanoacrylates after their thermal treatment in the temperature range of 20–250°C. The glass transition parameters of polycyanoacrylates and the dependence of the curing intensity on the structure of initial monomers and polymers are determined.

Synthetic adhesives have largely displaced natural adhesives in the automotive, aerospace, biomedical, electronic, and marine equipment industries over the past century. We have demonstrated the thin film deposition of biological adhesives using piezoelectric inkjet technology. A MEMS based piezoelectric actuator was controlled to jet uniform fluid flow of the adhesive solution through the ink jet nozzles. Microscopic deposition of adhesives enables improved bonding for a range of advanced electronic and biomedical applications.

The present invention relates to thickened cyanoacrylate compositions, such as those in gel or non-flowable forms. More particularly, the present invention relates to non-flowable cyanoacrylate compositions which can be packaged in a convenient pocket-sized applicator dispenser for use in spreading the cyanoacrylate compositions onto substrates.

Arjunolic acid, a triterpenoid, renewably resourced from Terminalia arjuna saw- dust, has the potential of being used as a structural molecular framework in supramolecular chemistry and nanoscience. The nanosized chiral triterpenoid on derivatization could immo- bilize varieties of organic solvents at low concentrations. The low-molecular-mass organic compounds self-assembled in organic media to form fibrous network structures having fibers of nano- to micrometer diameters. A dual-component supramolecular gelation has been demonstrated, exhibiting interesting thermochromic property.
